Disconnects and segfault against Open Directory

Bug Description

Mac OS X 10.5.2 Open Directory, clean install of Ubuntu 8.10 with nss-ldapd. The daemon.log shows repeated problems trying to connect and occasionally segfaults. The module nss-ldap works fine, as does ldap_search.
