Yay! Thanks, Matthias. I was thinking about writing a pkg-config(7) that explained pkg-config concepts. Maybe an html guide would be better, though.

What about the patch in bug 426106 for also outputting Requires.private with --print-requires? I think that'll be needed to avoid this type of issue from cropping up again.
