I'm getting the same problem with my MSN account both in an up-to-date version of Hardy and also in an Intrepid 8.10 VM with the latest updates, so doesn't look like this has been fixed in the latest development versions:

empathy 2.23.6-0ubuntu3
telepathy-butterfly 0.3.2-1

As original poster said, no particular action seems to trigger this crash. It seems to happen consistently ~2-3 minutes after logging in.

I'm with Anthony Hook. Today I have updated/upgraded the library (as well as the rest of packages that need to be upgraded) and I had this problem in Jaunty as well.

pymsn is dead, so we need to fix it here, or get a fix by papyon
(which does not have a bug tracker)
