copy paste does not work in all text box

Bug Description

Binary package hint: regexxer

- load files into regexxer
- copy text from the main text box
- paste text in the search box (does not work)

the same is true with "Replace" and "Pattern" box

still, this is a wonderfull tool, many thanks to the author and to ubuntu for providing this software.

The same happens on my 6.10 box at work
This bug has been present for a long time, a few years at least.
It occured also on debian sarge.
Whenever there is an open file in the editor box,
pasting to search box makes changes in the editor box.
I'd love to see this fixed :-)

Nice catch.

I had some trouble reproducing this bug but now I realize what the problem is. The copy/paste actions in the Edit menu always access the main text box, disregarding focus. I never noticed this as I'm used to the alternative shortcuts Ctrl+Ins for copy, Shift+Ins for insert and Shift+Del for cut, which don't invoke the menu items.

I'll try to come up with a fix soon. For now I suggest to use the alternative shortcuts as a work-around.

There's an even funnier part: if you press Ctrl+V,
then the paste also goes to the edit box.

Shift+Ins works as you described.

I would never expect Ctrl-V and Shift+Ins doing different things :-)

Note that middle button also works correctly.
