when i close the media player while music is playing the music doesnt stop

When you hit the close button of rhythmbox, it is minimized to the sound indicator in the top bar. That's a feature, not a bug.
In order to close it, you have to go to the music menu or hit ctrl+q.

Does the problem occur when closing the player through the menu or with ctrl+q?
