Bug Description

Description: Ubuntu 11.10
Release: 11.10

samba:
  Installed: 2:3.5.11~dfsg-1ubuntu2.1
  Candidate: 2:3.5.11~dfsg-1ubuntu2.1
  Version table:
 *** 2:3.5.11~dfsg-1ubuntu2.1 0
        500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric-updates/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     2:3.5.11~dfsg-1ubuntu2 0
        500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main amd64 Packages

When setting up a share using

vfs object = shadow_copy2

shadow copies don't show on remote computer unless

unix extensions = no
wide links = yes

are added to the global section as well which disable features and might enable access to paths from anywhere in the system which is a security issue.

Debugging of the problem has been done in samba mailing list but stopped: https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba-technical/2011-January/075651.html
