Bug Description

After an upgrade to vivid and plasma 5, it seems impossible to get avatars/photos associated to users in the sddm login screen.
Only a gray box is displayed. Not even the default user icon.

Actually, not all the blame should go to sddm. It is the kcmshell5 user manager that saves the ~/.face.icon file with the wrong permissions.

Still sddm should provide some sort of feedback about the fact that it cannot read the icon file or go back to the default user icon, certainly it should not display a gray box.
