Bug Description

Binary package hint: speech-dispatcher

Starting with maverick, speech-dispatcher do not need the SPEECHD_PORT environment variable to be set to work (see the changelog entry for 0.7-5ubuntu1). This environment variable was set in /etc/profile.d/speechd-user-port.sh.

The maverick package does not include that file. But it is not removed on upgrade, as it is a conffile. That would be no harm usually, but this shell fragment file may not evaluate properly in certain circumstance (see bug #601114). As such, and since it is not useful post-lucid, it should be removed.
