Bug Description

Binary package hint: tar

cf. http://osdir.com/ml/bug-tar-gnu/2010-03/msg00028.html

I have the same issue on Maverick:
$ hmake -j3 check
(...)
tar: /home/herve/devel/hbackup/trunk/base/test/test_dir/test1/dir space: Cannot rmdir: Directory not empty
tar: /home/herve/devel/hbackup/trunk/base/test/test_dir/test1: Cannot rmdir: Directory not empty
tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors
(...)

$ ls /home/herve/devel/hbackup/trunk/base/test/test_dir/test1/dir\ space/
link space

It seems tar now "forgets" to remove the symbolic link 'link space' that is inside the 'dir space' directory (this is part of my regression test for hbackup).

No problem on Lucid with tar-1.22.
