Bug Description
Hi,
this is some comment about the installation options (Tasks) offered at the end of the server cd image's installation process. Please use the option list from the PXE installer.
Reason:
For more than a decade I've been using the PXE installation process to install my ubuntu machines, because that installation process was just perfect, exactly what's needed.
The graphical installation process of the desktop edition was too unflexible (e.g. about encrypted or raid partitions) and always installed a graphical desktop.
The server edition is almost similar to the PXE process, but the options of things to install at the end is too limited, e.g. there's no Xubuntu or Lubunt to install. In contrast, the PXE has a much better list.
Until some years ago, Ubuntu offered an alternative installation edition, similar to PXE, but that vanished. If I needed to install ubuntu from a USB device, I preferred the Lubuntu edition then, since it comes close to the PXE installation process.
However, it would really be nice if the server edition would offer the full option (task) list as given in the PXE image. The PXE installation process was just the best and most powerful of all ubuntu installation methods. But there's more and more modern hardware requiring an UEFI installation which (to the best of my knowledge) does not work with PXE.
