Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

1)
Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release: 10.04

2)
empathy:
  Installed: 2.30.1-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2.30.1-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 2.30.1-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://dk.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     2.30.0.1-0ubuntu3 0
        500 http://dk.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages

3) What I expected to happen:
I expected the message I had just sent to be delivered to my chat-partner.

4) It seemingly silently dumped the messages no matter the length.

This seems to happen after I have left empathy running for some time without using it / using the computer.
Using "killall sympathy" and starting it again does NOT solve the problem, it seems like I have to restart the computer.

are these logs from the time when the problem actually happened?

I'm pretty sure they are.
I have noticed what may be another bug;
What happens is that I leave msn logged on, and it silently logs me of without removing the contacts from the list of people online.

Please add this ppa https://launchpad.net/~om26er/+archive/test and update your system with it. it will update telepathy-butterfly and also please check which version of python-papyon you are using to check that

$ apt-cache policy python-papyon

my bad, it seems Lucid is already using the latest version of telepathy butterfly but you could still check which version of python-papyon you have.

does the problem also happen for the other user? i.e. if he send you a message his messages are not received there?
