Folding menus do not work anymore (on Wayland)

Bug Description
When trying to access any folding menus (eg. in View top-level menu such as Headers, Sort by, Threads, etc.) these menus do not expand any more.
This seems to be bound to Wayland only as it work as expected under X11 using Gnome shell.

This only occurs in the gnome-shell running Wayland, this problem cannot be reproduced in other desktop environments (both running Wayland and X11 including Cinnamon and Plasma).
