Bug Description
Binary package hint: tracker
I have tracker indexing up to 400,000 words for file, with watch turned on.
I create a file called "globe" and it immediately appears and I find it with tracker.
I create a file called "global" and when I search for "global" tracker tells me that the word is not found. Nevertheless, the word "global" does appear in the fulltext context for many other files when I search for other related terms, since the word is common in other files on my hard drive.
A file called "outside" does not appear, and "outside" is not found anywhere on my hard drive even though it is a common word in files, but tracker asks me if I meant "outsid". I search for "outsid" and all fulltext instances of "outside" are found.
Similar results for many common words.
When I use catfish as a frontend, I find the exact same bugs. They persist even though I have re-indexed multiple times, and regardless of the word maximum I set per file.
It appears that many common words contained in the text of files are not indexed by tracker (but nevertheless sometimes by luck are displayed in the context results of a search for related words). It seems that this is a bug in the tracker daemon, since it is still there using the catfish frontend.
Any ideas what's going on?
