Hi, since at least Xubuntu 11.10 the XFCE's thunar needs too much time for displaying an icon after selecting a the file-line:
more then 3 secondes are terrible, sometimes I have to wait more than 10 seconds, even more terrible.
An example file comes with the attachement "LINUX_preview takes to much time.svg".
