Bug Description

Per Jim Campbell's note on IRC and on bug #768583 comment #6 there isn't any documentation for Onboard, the default on-screen keyboard in Ubuntu.

Ideally it would be good to have some for Ubuntu 11.10.

Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work, I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from here.

There is limited documentation available at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Accessibility/OnboardAndMousetweaksAtGDM for this application. This would perhaps help get someone started on this documentation.

Thanks for taking the time to make Ubuntu better!

The documentation linked above about how to enable onboard at GDM was written for the old GDM. Since karmic, Ubuntu is shipping the new GDM that offers an accessibility icon to open the accessibility dialog which contains a checkbox to start the onscreen keyboard.

Concerning some documentation about onboard: you might have a look at file:///usr/share/onboard/docs/index.html ships with onboard. These files need some updating, as they don't include some features added to onboard the last years.

I'm not sure gnome-user-docs is the correct place for this, since OnBoard isn't actually a GNOME (upstream) application. Is there a separate package for Ubuntu-specific docs?
