ubuntu (Gnome) does not have a default system sound for new mail

Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubuntu-sounds
If you go to System -> Preferences -> Sound, and then on the tab Sounds, in the 'Alert and Sound Effects' window, default value is set for 'New e-mail', but if you click on the arrow to play it, nothing happens. I have been forced to manually select an ogg file from kde system sounds for new-email notifications.
