Mouse pointer speed too fast

Bug Description

Even at its slowest setting, the mouse pointer speed is too fast.

Some people may not be able to use this OS due to this silly detail.

From prior experience, an end user expects a mouse to feel like molasses at its slowest setting.

Please increase the attenuation about 80% at slowest setting.

For years I had to execute the following commands in a startup script, to make my mouse usable:
xinput set-prop 11 "Device Accel Constant Deceleration" 2
xinput set-prop 11 "Device Accel Velocity Scaling" 5

Then, a while ago, these commands stopped working or made too little changes.
Therefore, I had to additionally include this command:
xset m 7/4 6

Now all these commands stopped working again or make too little changes.

Honestly: THIS IS SILLY!!

I love linux, but this not only is a crucial issue that persists over many years, but additionally all workarounds get sabotaged after some times!

Having the same problem. I'm using a Logitech B100 mouse which is connected via USB. At the lowest speed setting it's still very fast. Please consider what the OP said and reduce the lowest speed by 80%.

I had hope the problem had been addressed in 17.04, but I couldn't test it because of a WLAN bug. If anyone knows if 17.04 has it improved, this would be a good reason to try 17.04 until it works.

Thanks!!
