Bug Description

I have an external display attached. When I open system settings in top panel right button-> system settings ( or through other approach to enter the sub settings directly like time applet-> Time&Date Settings) , the external monitor is disabled for no reason. And after that I click the "Display" in system settings, the external monitor is enabled again. This combined with other bug(1304531) that move maximized windows around makes the open system settings process painful. It usually happens only once after reboot, then it is fine.

Thank you for your bug report. Could you do those steps and then add your ~/.cache/upstart/unity-settings-daemon.log to the bug?

affects: unity (Ubuntu) → unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu)
Changed in unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete

I just clicked "About this computer" and compiz crashed. The attached log seem to have more information than unity-settings-daemon.log
