compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in _wordcopy_fwd_dest_aligned()

running on Ubuntu 14.04 with current updates on a libvirt VM with 14.04 updated, both 64 bit.
Other issue that may be caused by this is that the terminal has all kinds of stripes in it and is thus almost unusable.
