BlueJ in-built text editor doesn't work

Bug Description
The built-in text editor of BlueJ doesn't work, when editing text files or Java classes (or any other type of file). It doesn't give an error or warning of any sort. Investigating why. I've found this issue on 2 machines with Unity7.
Machine 1:
Description: Ubuntu Groovy Gorilla (development branch)
