Bug Description

Sorry I am not investigating all too much in that one - just reporting in case anybody has some spare time to find out & fix

(It won't go away ... need to logout ... goes away during the transition phase of Ctrl-Alt-ArrowKey desktop-switching but reappears on all desktops)

got this when i change settings in compiz over the 'CompizConfig Settings Manager' for example i enable the 'Render text to texture' function but sometimes the top bar dissapear completely

i noticed now that unity sometime crash and restart without to logout, and so i get then the bar again, sometimes the icon's for running programs dissapear too but appear then after ALT+TAB. the crashes happened after i clicked on the (invisible) menu button and as i opened chrome and Restored it, then a i think 2x5 pixel window appear which i made bigger and without anything inside except black, also no text on the top of the window, so i closed the window and unity crashed then and reopened itself after a few seconds

read the launchpad blog about bug status and think this match more with it for me, is also one of the first bugs i reportor try to help so i need a bit to get used to that all

I can reproduce the bug as it appears in the video. Unity is indeed very sensitive to changes made in compiz. Perhaps we should aim this report to that, or open a new one, or maybe it even exists now and just needs to be merged.
