has there been any word on if and when this is going to get changed? Is there any way for me to stress the importance of this change, as I believe it would make Unity seem MUCH more user friendly and less daunting at first glance. Having 80+ applications in your applications list on a fresh install is obsurd, when it could easily be trimed down to less than 50 just by reducing redundancy!

Please consider this request for 12.04! I believe it is one of the few things that many people (including myself) find annoying/agrivating about Unity.
