Installed RCN build of 14.04 on BBB, added gnome-desktop, tightvncserver. At first, plain gray screen with X cursor in VNC. Edited .vnc/xstartup per http://askubuntu.com/questions/475023/how-to-make-vnc-server-work-with-ubuntu-desktop-without-xfce.
Now works, except 's' and 'd' are always shortcuts to system menu and minimize all. So it isn't just vnc4 or 13.10...
