Bug Description

Hi, I am having problems installing the package wine on xubuntu 20.04.
If I do so, apt wants to remove core packages that make up the desktop, like xubuntu-core

I just hit the same issue on jammy. I ran "sudo apt install wine32", which prompted to install a long list of packages, so I carelessly didn't read everything through. Apparently apt also wanted to remove most Xubuntu desktop packages! Full terminal output attached below.

Once apt started actually removing all those packages I got suspicious and killed it in the middle and am now dealing with fixing my system.
