some options in "Clock" don't work

Bug Description

I tried to configure the clock in the panel and found out, that some options don't work as described - in contrary, the clock is then hidden!

Manual: http://docs.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-panel/clock

%D = date; same as %m/%d/%y

%W = week number of year, with Monday as first day of week (00..53)

If these options are outdated please remove them from the manual.

Could this be this same problem I have written about -- it sounds similar, but I see the clock automatically on the top line menu bar, and in using the "Time & Date" setting:
