Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Where just the font should be fading out, the whole window decoration becomes transparent where the font should be and you can see through the decoration to what ever is below the title bar. See the attached screen-shot.

I'm using libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental and the nouveau driver.

The bug does not happen with the proprietary NVIDIA driver.

Have the same troubles with nouveau. Do not have this bug on propertiary drivers and other graphic cards (such as ATI and Intel).

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Quantal should have this fixed and it looks like it might be possible to SRU this to precise if it's the same bug.

Can this be reproduced on the latest quantal xxv-nouveau there? It was fixed very late in the cycle."

The issue with nouveau (AFAIK) is twofold:
  1. Nvidia has not provided documentation for open source developers to support all GPUs fully; and
  2. There are not enough developers working on nouveau so it lags behind even more.

you did not read this bugticket in depth, did you?

it`s not about documentation of nvidia cards and it`s not on working on nouveau - it`s about integrating an existing patch into the ubuntu trusty package !!!
