Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

Hi,
I am behind an authenticating proxy server at work. I have enabled Network Proxy system-wide in my preferences - using an up-to-date Karmic Beta. I can get to the U1 website via the link in Applications > Internet > Ubuntu One and log in.
Via nautilus I cannot connect - clicking on the connect button results in "Connecting" but nothing happens.

Hi Nomax,

I installed fresh 9.10 Official today. My local Ubunto One directory
updated the moment I added the laptop to the service - this was from
behind the firewall mentioned in my initial post.
Will monitor and report back if required.

Regards,
Darryl

Hi Darryl,

Thank you for the update! So you are behind a proxy server and Ubuntu One is working properly for you? Can you provide anymore details on the type of proxy server?

Thank you,

Joshua

Hi Darryl,

does your proxy require authentication?
Because mine does and it doesn't work here.

Greetz,

@ Joshua

The proxy is on an SME Server (Linux) running Dan's Guardian using ncsa authentication, i.e. a username and password are required for any Internet access. I have set the "System > Preferences > Network Proxy" on my Karmic login and set "Apply System-wide" for what that's worth.

@ Nomax
I've just tetsted agian by adding a file via Nautilus. A dialougue says "Updating files", then "Updating finished"
Then I went to the U1 website. None of my files are shown, but the File tab 27.3KB used (which is about right - I just have a few test files there).
U1 may be looking for proxy settings via "System > Preferences > Network Proxy" Have you filled in your details there?

Regards,
Darryl
