Roughly it's:

Testbed.setup(image_id)
Testbed.run_test(package)

wrapped and usable from cli.

To elaborate slightly: given an image, we should have a way for developers to reproduce the tests locally, using the CLI.

Once we have this in place we should validate the approach with our stakeholders, namely Ric M.

To clarify: does 'locally' here mean that the code should run on the developer machine or is it ok to spawn a testbed (a nova instance currently) under the dev control where the test run and where the dev can connect ?

That's the simplest case to address so I think we should start with that.

I think it's okay to start with a nova instance, but I think we should make a second pass where we make it possible to cut out the need for cloud credentials, by using LXC, KVM, or the Touch emulator.
