Bug Description
Binary package hint: unity
The dash in unity (places, apps) is semi-transparent and depending on what app or web site is in the background, readability can be very hard. I suggest to darken the background more, (even totally dark) or at least give the opportunity to the user to adjust it through a unity plugin in compiz.

I like this idea. There should be a slider for transparency of unity's launcher and dash in configuration. Just like the one that is for the top panel
