Bug Description

When using gimp’s fullscreen mode, I would expect all desktop elements to go and hide, like with other apps such as Firefox.
That’s not the case (see attached screenshot) : the launcher and menu bar don’t hide.

Please comment on why the but would be invalid, otherwise leave it be.
It’s definitely repeatable, even on another machine.

Note that if gimp was maximized before switching to fullscreen, the launcher will stay hidden.
However the top menu bar will still be there, and mask gimp’s top ruler.

Thank you for your bug report, could you try if that's still an issue in precise or with recent versions?

Confirmed in both oneiric and precise. Gimp is using the correct fullscreen method and Compiz is honouring that. The bug must be in Unity...
