dash search box does not respond keyboard on first launch

Bug Description
After booting, when I bring up the dash with the windows key for the first time, the cursor is in the search box, but it does not respond to the keyboard, until I click in the search box with the mouse. After clicking there it works, and every subsequent time I bring up the dash it works without having to use the mouse.
I don't believe this is the same bug as #736850, so I did not touch that, but it may be, in which case that should be reopened and this one marked a duplicate.

This is the case in both Oneiric and Precise, btw.
