application window does not get the focus returned

Bug Description

Thank you for HUD. I just switched to Ubuntu because your vision on how the desktop should be for the end-user aligns with what I want.

I installed HUD from the mentioned PPA. Using Alt key triggers it. While running chromium browser, I say "New Tab", and I get the Menu command "File => New Tab". A new tab opens. But the application window, i.e. Chromium browser, is not given the focus back. This leads to me manually getting the focus either using Alt + Tab or Clicking on the Window with my mouse.

You seemed to be on an old Unity HUD build. Did recent builds fix the issue for you?

 I can't confirm that. The problem was annoying enough that I moved back
to the stock unity from precise repo.

This was seen with Unity 5.2.0+bzr1971ubuntu0+644. Perhaps this was pushed to the unity ppa. That's how I got it.

I mean recently again with the listed version. And I can see that the
issue is not fixed.

and the buggy behavior still persists.
