Alt + F (or other mnemonic) doesn't work in gnome-terminal

Weird, this one actually works for me.

I've reassigned to Sam and linked his branch as it seems to be fixed in there with the rest of the Alt key bits.

Fix committed into lp:unity at revision 2049
