Changelog links don't open default browser

Bug Description

The clickable links from the package changelog as shown in the changes tab open in Firefox and not in the default browser.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Set Epiphany as your default browser in System->Preferences->Default Applications
2) Click on a link in the Update Manager changes tab

Expected behaviour:
The link opens in your default browser (Epiphany)

Observed behaviour:
The link opens in Firefox

So this seems to be introduced in

Here, exo-open (Xfce url and file opener) gets preference over gnome-open (Gnome equivalent) and the two don't necessarily do the same thing.

On my system, both are installed, and I was running Gnome.

I think xdg-open from xdg-utils should be used (or at least tried first) here, although the way they test which DE is running also seems a bit hackish (but at leas they provide some standard command).
