Widnows desktop icons disappeared after install of 9.04 through windows

Bug Description

Performed an install of 9.04 32 bit through windows 7 64 bit. All appears to be working ok, with the exception that my icons on windows desktop disappeared after install. I am now unable to get them to return. Not a huge deal, like the clean desktop, but thought it was kind of strange just the same?

I fail to see how that could happen, does that mean that the content of your Desktop directory is deleted? Can you reproduce that? How exactly do you get the icons to return?

The windows desktop folder is still intact, and the desktop settings have never changed, so as to what caused them to disappear, I don't know. I have downloaded a fresh 64 bit copy, and am going to uninstall the 32 bit version of 9.04, and install the 64 bit version.
After manually re-installing a few desktop shortcuts to windows, I am going to install the 64 bit version using the same method I did the 32 bit version. I will report back here what my results are.
