Bug Description

I have a normal Desktop CD copied over to an 8 GB USB stick. I also copied the 10.04 desktop CD iso to the root (where wubi.exe is). When starting wubi, it only gives the choice of rebooting ("to demo or full installation") or to learn more (start web browser).

After a lot of fooling and googling around I read somewhere that wubi does not offer to install if run from a DVD. I guess it just checks the size of the media, and disables the wubi install if the size is >= 4 GB.

I copied wubi.exe and the iso to a 1 GB USB stick and then I got the install option and everything went wonderfully well.

Whatever the reason is for not offering the install, it would be good to have some kind of notice/explanation, not just hiding one of the three menu options which otherwise is shown in all guides and screenshots everywhere.

the system would hang if you tried to install from a dvd so an upper limit was added to prevent this. Try creating a smaller partition as a temporary work around.
