Bug Description

The patch suggested by Havoc Pennington should solve the problem that causes a white flash on X login with compositing. The issue is http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20912

The patch has been already accepted by upstream and I tested it with Nvidia and Intel (with both EXA and UXA) with no regressions.

Please include it in Ubuntu.

I changed the patch numbering on this to 174 instead of 1000 so it's consecutive with the rest. There is a 999 patch (disabled currently) but we ignore that one for numbering purposes.

Thanks for testing it on nvidia and intel. With how late in the cycle we are, I'm concerned about even a little change like this causing regressions.
