Hi,
I ran into this bug bug recently and found a reference on https://bugs.launchpad.net/debian/+source/kdebase/+bug/16575/+activity and http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=293960 but nothing more.
I actually think it's a pretty important bug for anyone trying to use Samba securely in a mixed OS environment.
Strange that such an important bug affecting a mixed OS environment has not been seemingly generated so little interest or been reported more.
My solution was to use the pdbedit command in a root terminal to add/edit users, but very few ordinary punters are going to figure that one out.
Thank you for your attention.
Andrew
