A few thoughts:

For consistency, I like the idea of adding an Actions menu to the patron search screen, but I'm wondering if adding an additional click to get to "Retrieve patron" is desirable.

Double clicking on a row in the search results efficiently retrieves a single patron, so this could be considered the best route to retrieve a single patron. This doesn't allow retrieving the patron in a new tab, however.

Does relying on the double-click for quickest access to a patron and Actions -> Retrieve when retrieving multiple patrons, or a single patron in a new tab seem reasonable to others?
