Comment 3 for bug 949249

Had to turn off unified volume editor to see the button that's being described here. But tested and seems to be working to avoid creating a copy if one leaves the copy editor after using "Edit, then Create".

Some minor branch conflicts that I fixed to apply the patch to master.
