Bug 186541 (now marked as a dupe of this one) notes that since 0.46, window maximization fails when screen resolution is 1280x768. Hiding the toolbox 'rescues' the situation... That user was on Ubuntu 7.10 with the Metacity wm. My rig is also Metacity--can anyone confirm this on another WM? If so, the maximization issue should be probably be milestoned as a regression...
