I Just tested the latest release of the ARM GCC Compiler: gcc-arm-none-eabi-5_2-2015q4.

It produces the SAME suboptimal code when compiling for Cortext M0 vs M3 as gcc-arm-none-eabi-4_9-2015q3 does.
