Comment 11 for bug 165865

I concur. This has been the number one reason why I'm not
using Inkscape regularly, and this bug will be two years old
(!) soon. I'm not sure of the reason, but it's a little
disheartening to see its priority getting lowered.

I understand that this will be fixed automagically when SVG
1.2 is implemented (see last year's comment from buliabyak
below); but then again, I bet many potential users
(actually, probably the whole casual and technical artists
bunch) have already looked away and dismissed Inkscape. This
is sad, considering that Inkscape has a strong potential to
be one of the best graphical tools on multiple platforms.
