Commenting from the Inkscape tutorial by @joncruz at SVG Open this year - can this bug please be fixed before 0.47 is released? This would really enhance the interoperability of SVG files that Inkscape produces with all other viewers.
I realize that the history of the flowX elements is complicated and I'm not pointing fingers, I just want to have interoperable SVG and I believe this is the biggest blocking bug.
I think Comment #18 describes a possible quick solution. From my perspective, if "Text->Convert to Text" can just be run automatically every time the file is saved would that be acceptable from a user's perspective?
