*The correct URL is http://sourceforge.net/projects/dxf-svg-convert/ , but there is very little activity there (just one apparently corrupt zip file labeled version 0.01)

* Here on linux, the main issue seems to be that dxf2svg doesn't get compiled or installed. If I go to ./src/extensions/dxf2svg/, I can compile it by running make dxf2svg, but it doesn't get installed , and it doesn't work on a sample .dxf file that I found lying around. (attached here)

Did DXF import ever work for you in previous versions of Inkscape? I.e. is this a regression? There are a couple of 'wishlist' requests for DXF/DWG import, so the files that you have found lying around may just be vestigial leftovers from a failed attempt to code this up...
