I can confirm it with Inkscape-0.46-2-LEOPARD (Inkscape 0.46, built Mar 30 2008), but not with current 0.46+devel / 0.47pre builds on OS X 10.5.8 -> seems to be related to the GTK+ / GTK File chooser version and changed/fixed upstream?

osx only?
