Fernando, it's not so slow for me (AMD 2GHz, 2GB RAM). In your example I can go down to 800% on the blur zone and it's slow but still quite usable. The whole screen is refreshed in 4 seconds at most (when I minimize and maximize). How deep did you zoom in? How long it takes -in seconds- to redraw the screen?

Remember that there are two preferences: blur quality and filters quality. If only blur is that slow, change the blur (not filters) quality setting to lowest quality. Maybe it wasn't clear in my message #1, since I used the word "filter" instead of "blur".
