Thanks a lot,

I tried it and it did not work ... (I think the python code was corrupted due to my modification).

As a result I had to reinstall kazam. What a surprise! it went back to the old version (with the old fashioned countdown) that was working perfectly well ! In some way my problem is now solved ... until a new installation will be needed :-C

Best regards and thanks for your help

Eric

Objet : [Bug 1920053] Re: Kazam countdown hidden by full screen applications

In kazam/frontend/window_countdown.py

Try changing the line...

        self.window = Gtk.Window(...

To...

        self.window = Gtk.Window(Gtk.WindowType.POPUP)

Title:
  Kazam countdown hidden by full screen applications

Status in Kazam Screencaster:
  New

Bug description:
  I use kazam to put sound on .pdf presentation.

  With the old version of kazam it was possible to start the capture
  with a delay (e.g 3sec). With this I had time to go to my .pdf
  presentation (open in acrobat reader) and to switch it to full-screen.
  The countdown was still visible for a while and I knew that it was
  time to speak when it was disappearing.

  With the new kazam version (1.5...) the splash countdown is now covered by the full screen.pdf. The result is that I do not know exactly when to start speaking which compromises the synchronization
  of my movies when I join them.

  I would be really grateful if somebody can explain how to give to the
  kazam countdown first priority over all type of full screen
  applications.

  ;-)
