I have this bug both on a physical server (Intel ethernet card) and on a VirtualBox VM.
I also reinstalled a fresh Ubuntu 18.04 x64 Server VM (selecting the "Minimal server" setup mode) and it has the same bad behavior.

NOTE: Netplan option "wakeonlan: g" is not working too, maybe it's related to this bug.
I'll wait for this bug to be fixed and check if the wakeonlan bug is fixed too, otherwise I'll open another one.
