"This also happened to me "The first time I loaded up "Noise" (the music player), I selected the folder /home/my-user-name/Music as the directory to scan. The scan appeared to happen, but none of the tracks appeared, the library stayed empty. Closing and restarting Noise fixed"

And happened again when I changed my source folder for music.

For quitting Noise it is normal - I mean it is the way it's been designed in eOS- to first quit the playing song, then the app can be "really" closed. If you let the song playing eOS "thinks" you don't want to quit the app but just minimize it to the dock - which is quite fair."
